In an attempt to hold opioid manufacturers and distributors accountable for their contributions to the opioid epidemic, the National Opioid Settlement was reached between the U.S. government and said companies in 2022 and 2023. Pennsylvania will receive $1.07 billion throughout the next 18 years.

**Layering with intention...** *Double-masking to protect herself from more contagious variants of Covid-19 on March 17, Indian Valley Middle School student Cam Elwell has recently transitioned to more frequently wearing two masks instead of one. A recent study by the CDC found that wearing a surgical mask under a multilayered fabric mask greatly decreases the spread of particles from coughing and breathing to others.*

Concerns about mail-in voting increase provokes conversation among Americans

As more voters turn to mailing in their ballots instead of voting in person due to safety concerns about Coronavirus, swing state citizens worry about votes being discounted because of mail-in voting technicalities. In addition to void votes, both the Democratic and Republican parties worry that international interests could tamper with mail-in voting.
