Recycle the Cycle Club fights period stigma

To help educate their peers, three juniors started Recycle the Cycle. This club intends to raise awareness for important issues regarding period poverty and menstruating sustainably.

Recent surge in anti-transgender legislation affects nation’s youth

By passing bills that prevent transgender people from using their preferred name and accessing gender-affirming healthcare, transgender youth are having their societal success impeded. Since 2021 began, there have been nearly 100 anti-transgender bills, a record-breaking number.

COVID-19 impacts performing arts professionals

To continue practicing their craft, performing artists have had to alter the way they train throughout the past year. Performing artists have begun taking classes and teaching classes through Zoom.

Employees’ jobs change to fit Pennsylvania mandate

As a result of Governor Wolf’s mandate to partially close Pennsylvania, employees at local businesses had to alter their jobs to stay safe. From mid-December to early January, many businesses closed, while others improved upon their pandemic safety practices.

Competitive eaters prepare for upcoming competitions

To increase their chances of winning, competitive eaters spend hours preparing for various eating competitions and contests by increasing their stomach’s abilities. Preparations include consuming extensive amounts of water and indulging in large food portions.

Growing stronger...Going to fun activities outside of school together, the teachers of the world language department make connections with each other. In the fall of 2017, the department spent their afternoon at Painting With a Twist for their yearly team building activity.

Teachers create strong connections, communicate outside of school

To become closer with their co-workers, some teachers work together outside of school to plan lessons and activities and get to know one another on a personal basis. These relationships help them connect with each other in and out of the classroom.
