Issue 6 Thumbs Down 2020-2021

Thumbs down to technological difficulties…
Whether it’s the wifi not working or Schoology being unresponsive, there are plenty of frustrations when it comes to technology. Some days, using pen and paper feels as though it may be more efficient.
We’ve all been there: you’re sitting in class, quietly doing your work, when the Google doc you’re on suddenly goes offline. Then, in an instant, everyone is having the same problem.
Often, these issues are out of anyone’s control and they can be frustrating. For the time being, we need to maintain our composure and hope for better luck with technology next year.

Thumbs down to this year’s senior prank…
The year is coming to a close and you know what that means: senioritis is setting in and prank ideas are in the air. Unfortunately, this year’s senior class prank didn’t exactly live up to expectations.
For their senior prank, the class of 2021 chose to take an additional “senior skip day.” Seriously? That’s all you got? Needless to say, this idea was taken with no amusement from the student body.
Come on, the class of 2019 filled the locker rooms with rubber ducks! We don’t condone participating in any reckless behavior or pulling any harmful pranks, but we do love a good laugh here at The Arrowhead. Better luck to the class of 2022.

Thumbs down to participating in senior week…
Each year, around the first week or so of summer vacation, thousands of newly graduated teens flood the local beaches, vacationing with their friends. This tradition is logically dubbed “senior week.”
While this is usually a very fun and exciting event, we worry that engaging in partying like this could cause another spike in COVID cases. Perhaps, seniors are better off sitting this one out.
This is not to say that you shouldn’t have fun and celebrate all of the hard work you’ve poured into these last four years. Perhaps, instead of crowding the local beaches during a pandemic, seniors should opt for smaller get-togethers with fewer friends.
