Reflecting on their high school experience, many seniors feel nostalgic for their childhoods and excited about their future plans and goals.
According to senior Kendall Moyer, her school experience has shaped her to become who she is today.
“Both elementary and middle school helped to put me in situations that taught me how to put myself out there and build relationships, which overall improved my experiences in high school and will continue to help me make memories beyond,” Moyer said.
For senior Yuktha Bungatavula, “elementary and middle school shaped [her] interests,” while high school allowed her to pursue them.
“One of my favorite parts of high school was forming friendships and making memories playing tennis,” Bungatavula said.
For Moyer, one of her favorite memories in high school was “being a part of clubs, especially Link Crew,” and also “building relationships with different people.”
“I feel like activities, like Link Crew, completed my experience. Without them, I don’t think I would have gotten as much out of high school as I have,” Moyer said.
Senior Adriana Kingsbury feels that some of the social events held at Souderton greatly enhanced her high school experience.
“I really enjoyed going to dances and club activities with my friends,” Kingsbury said.
According to Moyer, getting involved in high school was one of the most important decisions that she made.
“I quickly realized that if I thought something was interesting, then I should try it out for myself and make my own choices,” Moyer said. “The opportunities that I have had and the relationships that I have gained because of being involved have absolutely made my high school experience.”
Looking back at her freshman year self, Moyer wishes that she could tell herself to “be your own person.”
“I would’ve wanted to not care about what other people would think of me. I think that is really important and valuable advice for anyone starting high school,” Moyer said.
Similarly, Bungatavula believes that it is important for all students to be involved and present throughout their high school years.
“Advice that I would give my freshman year self is to enjoy every part of high school,” Bungatavula said. “I know everyone says that, but it really does fly by, and it is important to cherish it all.”
According to Kingsbury, while her high school experience helped shape her, she is also looking forward to her future.
“I’m looking forward to starting college after graduating and taking advantage of new opportunities that it provides me, like meeting new people,” Kingsbury said.
Moyer is looking forward to “being able to move onto the next chapter at college with new experiences [and] opportunities,” and Bungtavula is excited for “more independence that will come in college.”
“I’m very excited for my future, and I think I feel so ready and confident because of the skills and independence that I have gained in high school,” Moyer said. “I feel prepared for my future and capable of the hard work to come.”
