To make Halloween and autumn spirit spread all around the town, the 3rd Friday on Souderton Main Street offers a variety of engaging, fall activities and vendors for everyone.
3rd Fridays is now fully prepared to welcome their customers for Halloween activities and are offering a variety of food vendors for everyone.
According to Souderton Connects Manager Jessica Cimini, many people enjoy autumn and the Halloween season on 3rd Fridays the most, because “it gets dark earlier, it’s chillier, the atmosphere in general is just awesome during Halloween,” which is why it gets busier during fall.
Since many people enjoy the event, especially around Halloween season, there are new things added to the program.
The new activity, storywalk has been introduced, “so what that means is you take a book and you get it enlarged and you spread the book out through town. So as people are walking to different parts of town, they can read the story,” Souderton Connects Board member Amanda Davoli said.
The cozy season also makes everyone unite at the event.
“It’s not just nicely decorated in the fall, but the community comes together,” junior Jennielis Laboy Rodriguez said.
According to Laboy Rodriquez, Halloween makes the Souderton community reunite after having a busy summer and enjoying the 3rd Fridays together is a bright highlight for many.
No matter the age, all are welcomed to 3rd Fridays and enjoy everything that is offered.
“There is really something for everybody,” Davoli said.
On October 17, the last 3rd Friday of the season, everything will be Halloween themed. “Now it has that Halloween feel to it. We ask all the vendors that come out for the October one to bring bowls of candy so then we also tell the community to bring your kids dressed in costume,” Cimini said. “So then as the parents walk to all the vendors, the kids can trick or treat at each of the vendors’ tables.”
For Laboy Rodriguez, not only does she like autumn on the 3rd Fridays the most, but so do so many other people. She believes summer is “too hot” to be outside for a long time, so October is just perfect to come out, enjoy your friends and family, vendors, and have fun.
3rd Friday prepares for Halloween
Hosting activities for all, 3rd Friday celebrated the spooky season for their last event of the year on October 17.
“You can never have too many friends”…Getting into the Halloween spirit, volunteer Sarah Price paints a Hello Kitty design on 3rd Friday attendee Violet Walsh’s face. The final Souderton 3rd Friday of the season was on October 17.
