Holding food stands, live music, and an abundance of cherry blossoms, Philadelphia completes their annual Cherry Blossom Festival located in Fairmount Park on April 5-6.
Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia (JASGP) holds their annual spring celebration of arts and culture.
The event itself features various events throughout the city, and this yearly festival allows people to get a taste of a different culture.
General admission cost $15 which could either be paid online, or in person at a ticket booth.
The highlight parts of the event were the delicious unique foods, the vendors, the art, the live music and most importantly the blooming cherry blossoms.
We arrived around noon and paid $10 for parking, and received decent parking spots that were not too far away. It was in a relatively quiet, and spacious area.
We then walked around five minutes to the festival’s destination. The walk to the other events allowed us to see the cherry blossoms that were planted and they looked exceptionally beautiful.
There were trails that were designed to showcase these trees that are spacious and the blossoms are also along the vendors as well.
They were at their peak bloom and provided beautiful views.
We decided to start with trying one of the food vendors, eager to try the food as there was a lot of popularity alongside it. We first tried matcha ice cream from Matcha Cafe Maiko. They served a variety of matcha themed treats, with some other popular items including lemonades, matcha lattes, and more.
This ice cream was delicious. The matcha taste was very natural and was not too sweet. I rated this a 9/10.
There were many other food vendors that were popular that we did not have a chance to stop at.
Some of these include Bao and Bun Studio, Lulu Cafe, Papermill Foods and much more.
Outside of just one of the small treats they had, they had live performances and music to keep people entertained and it certainly did.
Towards the beginning of the festival, there was a large stage with groups of singers and dancers on stage.
The music was not too loud, and matched the vibes of the event. They offered cultural based entertainment.
Additionally, the festival allowed artists to put their art on display to the public to simply look at, or buy.
