Philadelphia rookies from the draft class of 2024 have performed strongly due to their bright personalities and the impressive skill sets they bring to the table.
According to Eagles fan Adam Trajirian, Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean have really stood out on the Eagles’ defense.
“The two rookie cornerbacks from the Eagles are astounding,” Trajirian said. “They’re going to be great in years to come.”
For Philadelphia sports fan Dylan Irvin, his hopes are still alive for Quinyon Mitchell to win some awards regardless of a slow end to the season.
“I’m hoping Quinyon would get defensive rookie of the year because of the way he is played,” Irvin said. “The way he is played in the zone, playing the man. Both were excellent.”
Lifelong Philadelphia fan Maryann O’Kane said the rookie’s bright personality can be attributed to much of their success.
“I think [Cooper Dejean and Quinyon Mitchell] bring a lot of energy to the team with their attitude,” O’Kane said.
O’Kane believes that these energetic players “inspire the other [experienced] players to up their game.”
Trajirian said that as the veteran cornerbacks continue to get older and out of their prime it gives the younger guys, Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper Dejean, a better chance at succeeding in the league.
Irvin said that besides the two impressive cornerbacks on the Eagles.
There have been other rookies who have been just as impressive.
“[Rookie] Matvei Michkov is one of the only reasons that seats are being filled in the Flyers’ stadium right now,” Irvin said.
O’Kane points out that the Flyers’ future is entrusted to Michkov “because of his potential, his promise, his ability I think he has a good future,” O’Kane said.
Trajirian believes that with Michkov the Flyers’ future is very bright and that he is an all-around amazing player.
According to Irvin, Michkov is imperative to the Flyers’ success and without him, the team would diminish.
“He’s very good in clutch situations over time, he’s got a couple of game-winners, so I’m not sure how the other guys would play, it wouldn’t be the same team,” Irvin said.
Irvin also thinks that Philadelaphia 76er Jared McCain’s “goofy personality” promotes the Sixers team to success.
“It’s a very uplifting, upbeat kind of personality, which is great for the team,” Irvin said.
McCain is out indefinitely with a torn meniscus but that doesn’t stop Philadelphia sports fans from talking about his success.
“I do like Jared McCain. It’s a shame he got hurt because he was doing good and playing well with Maxey,” O’Kane said.
