Due to up-and-coming trends, Stanley cups have grown greatly in popularity. However, people have started to question whether they are worth the high demand.
Stanley is known as one of the fastest-increasing popularity cups in the U.S.
According to Inc Magazine, Stanley’s reported a 250% increase in sales in the past two years. With any normal cup, some pros and cons add to its influence.
According to freshman Mahrin Hasan, she dislikes some features of the cup.
“Considering its size, the cups are relatively heavy,” Hasan said, “and it doesn’t fit into certain places.”
For freshman Haasini Matta, she feels the cup can “hold a ton of liquid,” making it easier to make it through the day.
The Stanley cup can hold up to 40 ounces, which is a lot for a cup.
“I carry it around almost everywhere with me,” Harleysville resident Natalie Weaver said.
The Stanley cup has become influential to people’s lives around the world.
According to the Medical Website Medriva, Gen-Z and influencers of today have been seen also to highlight the successful growth of Stanley, using platforms like TikTok and Instagram to influence its popularity.
According to some Stanley cup owners, the quality of the product is equally important.
“I’m surprised with the quality. I go places all the time and it’s perfectly intact after 5 months,” Matta said.
According to the journalism website Vox, Stanley’s keep drinks cold for around 11 hours and ice stays intact for two days.
“At the end of the day when I’m at home, there’s most of the ice from earlier in the day,” Matta said. “It keeps my drink ice cold.”
Matta also appreciates the various color choices Stanley cups offer.
“The constant new colors provide more variety,” Matta said. “It makes me want to go back and buy more.”
Weaver shared a similar outlook.
“The colors collide nicely and excite me for new releases,” Weaver said.
Students also say that the unique shape and design of the Stanley introduces new places to put it.
“The unique shape makes it accessible into new spaces [and] it’s interesting to hold around, too,” Matta said.
Prices also play a huge role in the cup’s popularity.
Stanley Cups have been seen as being pricey.
Costs typically range from around $40-$60 per cup.
