Thumbs Down: People not social distancing

The weeks we got off due to the novel outbreak of COVID-19 were not a “coronacation” to spend time with your friends and party. They were weeks for quarantining in order to “flatten the curve” of the outbreak. The attitude that the outbreak does not have any impact on your life, is the attitude that contributes to the spread of the virus. Social distancing allows for time to reset, reevaluation of priorities, and time to spend developing a new skill. In a day and age where life has only become faster and busier, social distancing can be used as the hard reset button that can refresh. Ignorance leaves everyone vulnerable to the contraction and spread of disease.
