To ensure a more enjoyable vacation for families and friends alike, vacations to the mountains should be favored rather than the alternative of a beach vacation.
Vacations in the mountains are more of an experience that can range from a relaxing retreat away from the hustle and bustle of life, to a physically engaging trip that has you climbing mountain peaks and taking impressive pictures.
Spending time in the mountains offers more activities and more freedom than at the beach.
Depending on the season, vacationing in the mountains offers hiking, rafting, mountain biking, driving ATVs, and sledding.
While having fun, people in the mountains can enjoy more privacy due to the vastness of the area and the trees blocking sight.
Some would say that being in the mountains is a lifestyle and one that promotes many benefits to those seeking either to live there or to spend a vacation there.
There is a benefit that can be found when detaching from technology and people, which can be best done in the mountains.
According to Activisthealth.org, detaching from technology and social media is positive for one’s mental health.
“Unplugging and taking some time to reconnect with yourself and be present in the activities taking place around you can be incredibly valuable.”
Vacationing in the mountains is the best place to connect with nature, as one can spend time renting out cabins or camping in a place mostly unbothered by other people or cars.
As explained by psychologist Lisa Nisbet, “You can boost your mood just by walking in nature, even in urban nature. And the sense of connection you have with the natural world seems to contribute to happiness even when you’re not physically immersed in nature.”
The mountains also provide chances for people to enjoy a more relaxed experience. When out in the mountains, there aren’t bustling crowds or parking spots to worry about.
While outside, people may worry about bugs or other problems like getting rained on, however, these can be mitigated by basic items such as bug spray and ponchos.
There are also many different types of mountains and experiences that you can enjoy, there is a mountain range for each person with different climates, weather and nature.
According to the National Park Service, eight different large mountain ranges in America differ, with some being the Rocky Mountains, Appalachian Mountains and Cascade Range in Oregon, just to name a few. Each of these has different experiences that one can find if they explore and decide to vacation there.
While staying in the mountains, there is also a feeling of exploring and discovering new activities or locations despite coming back yearly.
Pro: Mountains give you vacations to remember
Mountains offer countless opportunities for families and friends to have fun while detaching from the bustle of life.
