Joining a bible study can often be a transformative experience, offering a unique space for spiritual growth and fellowship.
The Movement Club is a student-led community, welcoming anyone to participate.
It started with science teacher Christine Jackson having a discussion with a student.
It has now been almost 30 years since starting, and over the years the number of students joining the club has varied.
“A lot of years the room had been so filled and popular it had become a standing room only, where there was not enough chairs, to say the least,” Jackson said
Club members find it easy to connect with other students who share the same interests and intentions, and make new friendships along the way.
This year’s club president is senior Lyla Souiedan.
Souiedan takes the club very seriously and ensures that everyone can have fun while also learning.
Because of Souiedan’s commitment, the Movement Club has been a safe space for students to come together and deepen their understanding of the Bible.
“The opportunity to come each week during the school year, not being mandatory and like free for all, also shows the commitment they put in,” Souiedan said.
Every Friday morning, during Red Zone in room 226, students are welcome to walk in and participate.
Fellow active attendees include senior Jocelyn Ziegenfuss, sophomore Silas Paine, and freshman Josh Spahn.
They have all say that their experiences being a part of The Movement Club have greatly shown a difference in who they are as individuals.

By growing in faith and supporting each other’s spiritual paths, the Movement Club aims to help make new connections with people of the same values.
