By holding its yearly bingo night, Oak Ridge Elementary School families came together to bond and win prizes.
The event took place on November 1 in the school’s gymnasium.
During this event, everyone plays several rounds of bingo with an assortment of fun prizes to choose from.
According to Principal Tom Ferlick, the night allows families of all ages to enjoy themselves.
“My favorite part of the night is seeing the kid’s excitement with their families,” Ferlick said. “I love when older kids come back and play with their younger siblings.”
Ferlick was pleased with this year’s turnout.
“I think it went really well,” Ferlick said. “It was a really great crowd.”
Oak Ridge Owl parents have a chance to bond as a family during bingo night.
Jennifer Smith, parent of current Oak Ridge students, said that this night is great for spending time with family.
“It is a fun night where our family can spend time with each other,” Smith said.
The night also allows parents to get involved with helping out at the school through various ways.
Activities such as handing out bingo boards or helping with different stands are ways that parents can engage with their kids’ school projects.
“So far it has been a lot of fun,” parent volunteer Chelsey Cordero said. “It is nice to meet the kids my son is hanging out with and spend some time with the parents.”
Outside of the gymnasium during the bingo night, there are stands catered to helping those in need.
“I have done a lot of things with the school, but this has got to be my favorite,” parent volunteer Heather Markus said. “It is a really amazing way to give back.”
For Oak Ridge student Greer McGowan the prizes were her favorite part of bingo night.
