Due to their performances this season from individual events to relays, the boys and girls winter track team sent the most competitors to states and nationals in Souderton history.
Boys track coach Jimmy Stevenson said the team finished nationals with “four relays in the top nine in the nation.”
The distance medley relay team of seniors Aiden Maue, Aidan Kearns, James Kuduk and sophomore Matthew Myers ran 10:13.58, placing 5th overall at nationals and ran the number one fastest time in the state throughout the entire season.
Their time is also the 6th fastest in Pennsylvania distance medley relay history.
The boys’ 4x200m relay, comprised of senior Vaughn Cole, junior Mateo Barrera, sophomore Felix Suliveres and Myers placed second at states, breaking their own school record with a time of 1:29.13.
The trio of Kearns, Kuduk, and Maue were joined by senior Lance Midboe in the 4xMile and senior Justin Stauffer in the 4x800m respectively. Both of those relays placed 9th in the nation.
According to Stevenson, the 4x200m relay of juniors Lorrell Pagent Thomas and Bryce Solly with Cole, Myers and Barrera, placed 8th overall.
