Football Turnout:
So far, this season, there has been an impressive turnout for the varsity football football games, especially among underclassmen.
Several Souderton organizations and members have done a fantastic job promoting these football games, such as Link Crew and students via social media.
The packed student section is a great show of school spirit and is exactly what opposing teams should see when coming to face Souderton.
Football games have become a great show of unity where students of all grades and backgrounds can come to support the football team and show their spirit.
It has become something for everyone to enjoy.
Eagles Draft Picks:
The Philadelphia Eagles had seven picks in this year’s NFL draft after trading for D’andre Swift, and they drafted quite well.
At ninth overall the Eagles selected Jalen Carter, who was once the expected number one pick.
Carter slid down to ninth due to his involvement in a terrible car crash earlier in the year where he was found guilty of street racing.
So far, this season Carter has proved to be a force on the defensive line.
With the thirtieth pick the Eagles selected Nolan Smith, a lineman that many expected to go in the top ten. Smith has shown flashes in limited snaps.
The Eagles also drafted strong depth.
Student Volunteer Work:
Over the summer and during the beginning of this year, many students have been involving themselves in the community.
Whether it be for the National Honor Society or just for personal reasons, student volunteering has improved our community.
While a lot of students start volunteering just to fulfill their requirements for the NHS, many stick with these activities after they finish their required hours.
Several students have volunteered at animal shelters such as Last Chance Ranch in Quakertown, while others have given their time to humanitarian groups like Care and Share Thrift Shoppes and working at a food pantry.
