Prime Hydration was released just over one year ago and has quickly become a top competitor among the energy/hydration drink industry. Prime is said to taste better, work better and be healthier than the other drinks.
Companies like Gatorade, Powerade and Body Armor all have very few ingredients compared to Prime, but have large amounts of sugar. On the other hand, Prime lists more ingredients, none of which can be pronounced by the average person, for example, “cyanocobalamin” is made without caffeine and is gluten free.
In terms of ingredients, it is up to you to make the decision. You can either buy a drink with ingredients you know are unhealthy or buy a drink with ingredients you have never heard of before.
For taste, I have to say the prize goes to Prime. Admittedly, it does feel weird to ingest something with so many ingredients, but the flavor is very good.
Prime now has seven different flavors ranging from typical flavors like Grape to wacky, unique flavors like Meta Moon.
I will not say that any of the flavors are bad because, truthfully, they are all pretty good when compared to all other hydration drinks.
The design aspect of Prime Hydration is very good. The bottle shape is unique, the logo is unique and the individuality of each distinct flavor is really well done. My personal favorite design is Meta Moon because it is a black and white bottle with a stellar theme.
In terms of performance, Prime also gets a high score. Each sip was very refreshing (especially when refrigerated) and it was just as hydrating.
Prime’s first released flavors were Tropical Punch, Lemon Lime, Grape, Orange and Blue Rasberry.
Tropical Punch is exactly what I expected; it tasted like every other fruit punch flavored juice but a little bit stronger.
Lemon Lime is much sweeter than expected. Other than that, it was delicious and easily one of my favorites.
Grape is the most accurately flavored of all of them. The grape flavor is strong and tastes good, which is something many other companies fail to do.
Orange was extremely average. There was nothing really special about it other than the fact that it tasted like an off brand SunnyD. Prime’s following releases were Ice Pop and Meta Moon.
Ice Pop is absolutely perfect. It was a very nostalgic flavor for me, reminding me of the times in elementary school when we would get ice pops after field day.
Meta Moon is also rather average. It is weird that Prime made up a flavor because I really didn’t know what to expect, so I was surprised when it was not that bad.
